Union
Public Service Commission, UPSC has released the notification for the UPSC
NDA/NA II 2020 Examination. The examination would be conducted for a total of
413 vacancies - 370 for National Defence Academy and 43 for the Naval Academy.
Interested candidates are required to apply online on upsconline.nic.in before
the last date which is July 6, 2020. Due to COVID 19 pandemic and the
consequent lockdowns, the UPSC NDA/NA I exam 2020 which was scheduled for June
10 would now be conducted along with the NDA/NA II Examination on September 6.
Also, the students who have applied for NDA I can also apply for NDA II
Examinations. There would be, however, only a common written examination and
the results for both the NDA I and NDA II would be declared separately.

Educational qualification
Course
in Army Wing of National Defence Academy: Candidates must have cleared
the class 12th or 10+2 on the pattern of school education conducted by a
state board or university or equivalent.
Course
in Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and 10+2 Cadet
Entry Scheme in Indian Naval Academy: The candidates must have
passed class 12th or10+2 from a recognized school or equivalent exams with
Physics and Mathematics conducted by the state boards or university or
equivalent.
Exam Pattern
The
selection process of NDA & NA I & II 2020 recruitment will consist of 2
stages, i.e., written exam and SSB Interview.

Interview consists of 900 marks.
- Important points
- The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions
- The question papers of Mathematics and General Ability Test will be set bilingually in Hindi as well as English.
- Candidates should note that there will be Negative Marking of One third marks for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
- In the question papers, wherever necessary, questions involving the metric system of Weights and Measures only will be set.
- Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write answers for them.
- The Commission has discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects at the examination.
- The candidates are not permitted to use calculator or Mathematical or logarithmic table for answering objective type papers.

The
question paper in English will be designed to test the candidate’s
understanding of English and workman like use of words. The syllabus covers
various aspects like: Grammar and usage, vocabulary, comprehension and cohesion
in extended text to test the candidate’s proficiency in English.
General
Knowledge
The
question paper on General Knowledge will broadly cover the subjects: Physics,
Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography and Current Events.
